CENTENARY REUNION

On the 14th June  2008 just under 100 former members , staff and their partners met to celebrate the centenary of the 70th London Company at Tooting Junction Baptist Church. The members talked and reminisced into the early evening looking at the many pictures and items of memorabilia which decorated the hall’s walls. At 4.00pm . We gathered together to give thanks to God for the past 100 years and the Mayor of Wandsworth Cllr John Farebrother , ex captain of the 99th London unveiled the 70th  centenary plaque in the church sanctuary. The short service was led by former Captain Rev. Neil Pheasant.

 

After the group photograph everyone present was given a copy of the Company history “ A Positive Contribution.” Which is over 200 pages long containingthe story of the Company’s first 100 years with the thoughts and memories of former members and with a range of black and white and colour photographs , A DVD with interviews from  ex- members and the 70th’s own centenary button hole badge was also presented to each old boy.
